Nifty and Thrifty Stuff

Hey Ya'll,  I get so absorbed into looking at other folks posts...that I don't even think about posting myself.  I have been having computer problems like some of you, I too switched from Internet explorer and that fixed a lot of the problems.  Anyway, I have some things to show you, try as I may, I just have such a problem trying to minimize...I have decided that I ain't gonna try no more, cause it just ain't gonna work.  It's a security thing, I guess.  (Besides the fact that I like it!)  Here we go......

A shelf painted in chalk paint...not Annie Sloane...Maison Blanche.

A closer look at a section of the shelf, I dug that old cricket cage out of my Dad's junk pile.  Shed antler from the farm.

Another closer shot of the shelf.  The round disk with number's in the back is from a old green scale dismantled from Dad's junk pile.
The dress form was a roadside find that needed a little adjustmentI gussied her up with a rusty jar ring necklace and a canvas bag from Hobby Lobby, then I hung my Goodwill chandelier from her hip.  Old screen door from Mr. Bills, (the best junk around), and added some architectural stuff to it.

The old newel post I bought from eBay and added the rusty metal weather vane to the top.

You really can't see the sign very well, but, I will show it better in a later post. I found it a the consignment shop that I take stuff to that don't work in my booth at Cotton CityThe sign came from a pharmacy, it says: Save more everyday on prescriptions, ask our pharmacist.  The deer head came from Target.
At lot more to share....later on....bye for now.  Rhonda

  1. Wow I think we might be sisters separated at birth! I love all your old stuff - and love that you have embraced it all and just given into having all the stuff. Neat that your Dad has an old junk pile - my Mom used to have cool old junk but we made her get rid of it - now I'm kicking myself that I didn't save that old green bottle and that old battery jar!

I read that part of the post about 4 times to see if you mentioned where but I didn't see:) My MIL would go gaga over your white rooster lamp! I don't blame you for not wanting to get rid of all those treasures, you never know...down the road you may kick yourself if you did. You can always store some away and rotate things:)

  5. Your first paragraph couldda been written by me! *LOL* Try as I may, Minimizing and Editing is not one of my strengths either... nor is brevity... and I've been wrestling with both and decided that perhaps its going to have to be okay being a Maximalist rather than trying to morph myself into something I ain't? *winks* Your Junquing Haul is Awesome... 'SCORE'!!!

  9. Your Collections are so very similar to mine that we are indeed kindred Spirits! I too am attempting to Minimize and Simplify Life some... I'm making better progress than I have in the Past, so perhaps the timing is just right this time? I know that as I sell off the Collections and get to Enjoy Activities it funds with the G-Force it makes giving it up worthwhile and Joyful, you can't put a Price on Memories and Stuff is just Stuff. Thank you so much for your Blog Visit and words of encouragement with Prayers... the Community here in the Land of Blog has been so Uplifting, especially when it becomes difficult to Socialize in Person due to commitments and circumstances such that they are. Know that you are all so very appreciated!

  11. Greetings! I know this is kind of off topic
but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for
this website? I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had issues
with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

  12. Wonderful blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I'm hoping to start my own website soon but I'm a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like Wordpress
or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm totally overwhelmed .. Any recommendations? Cheers!
